How to disable the touchpad for dummies!
I have an Inspiron N7010 running Windows 7. I use an external mouse so the touchpad is annoyingly in the way. I've tried the hotkeys...they don't work. I can't figure out what drivers (if any) are needed and I'm about to throw my computer into the wall. If anyone out there can break this down to laymen terms, I will be SO grateful! Thank you to ANYONE who answers this!!

Hi usmcdragonlover,
Welcome to the Community,
To disable touch pad first install the Touch pad driver from the link below:
www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats
Once you install the driver, either look for Touch pad icon on the right hand bottom of your screen to change setting for touchpad or go to start menu and in search box type Dell touchpad. It should have a option or settings which can be enabled to turn off touch pad when USB mouse is plugged in.
Hope this helps,
Thank You
