How to Remove "Designed for Microsoft Windows XP" Sticker?

Is there a safe way to remove this sticker without damaging the finish on the computer case? I was able to remove the other stickers, but this one seems more substantial and with a stronger adhesive.

The unit would look much better without it.

A little tea tree/ eucalyptus oil and it will come right off (we have it in abundance here in Oz and nothing is better for removing adhesive without marks..... dunno what the availability is like over there though).

Otherwise just as normal, slow and even lifting.

Once you pull the sticker off use some naphtha (lighter fuel/fluid) on a clean rag to remove the glue from the sticker.

Ed, you mean to remove the glue from the computer case, not from the back of the sticker, correct?

Yup, after I posted then read what I had posted it did sound like I was talking about getting the glue off of the sticker. It should of read something like "To remove the glue LEFT by the sticker on the case".

Even before I booted my new iXPS up, taking the two stickers off was the first thing I did.  I used a sharp knife to get under the stickers to peel them off.  Then I put the iXPS under my desklamp for 10 minutes and then used scotch tape to press against the residue and it came right off.

Thank you to all who sent in success stories of how they were able to remove the sticker without damage. It's encouraging.

But before I try the same thing, is there anyone out there who was NOT successful - i.e. messed up their computer trying to get rid of the ____ ___ sticker?

Don't be shy.

i just peeled off the sticker and it came off fine - no special techniques needed.

Its a sticker.. just pull it off and use hot soapy water to rub away any glue residue. Its not rocket science!

Wouldn't some of that orange glo stuff (citrus cleaner), remove the sticky from the case without ruining the plastic? That's what I would try on mine. But I would first try it out in an obscure place, like maybe underneath or on the inside plastic door taken off the bottom of a laptop to see if it damages the plastic.

just peel it off that easy but why is it bothering you??and then take very cold or very warm water to take off what ever glue might be left behing
