Help camera's not working...and a couple other issues= (loading skin dellprodreg_skin)
Just got the computer for christmas (System Type:Studio Laptop 1536) -
The camera/video was working, but now when I go to it, nothing - either doesn't respond or if it comes up and shows no video/picture on the screen.
Second after computer is on for a minute or so a error pops up: And puts a big white box in the center of the screen, where you can't drag anything there (everything on the desktop in where the white box is you can not get to...)
An application error has occurred...
Error: 'g_Logger' is undefined

None of the Dell Support options work, tried on here and says my warrenty is expired (you don't get a 30 or 90 warrenty when you purchase a computer?) Any help would be greatly appriecated. Thanks, David.

Did you install or uninstall anything before the camera/video stopped working? What application are you trying to use the webcam in (e.g. Skype, Yahoo Messenger, Dell Webcam Center)? Do you use Dell Support Center? If so I'd suggest uninstalling it, downloading a new copy of the latest version here then reinstalling it. See if doing that cures the application error and the white box that appears in the center of the screen. If you don't use Dell Support Center then just uninstall it and leave it uninstalled to see if that gets rid of the error & the white box that appears.

hi sounds like you should return it if you are having problems this early. i believe warranties are at least for 1yr and you can return it within 21days of it being despatched.

Ok, uninstalled the Dell Support, the camera is working however the white box is on the screen.
Here the exact error thats causing the white box:
Failed on loading skin name "dellprodreg_skin". The file shell.css" is required in your "sscommon/skins/dellprodreg_skin/css/" directory. To fix this problem, please check the skin name in your config file, or reinstall the application.
This Window will be closed.
Let me know if you know how to fix this. thanks again.

OK, at least one problem is resolved. Try this to deal with the white box. Boot the system into Safe Mode w/Networking by tapping F8 every couple of seconds as it's starting up. You'll get an advanced options menu where the choice above will be displayed. If the error and white box don't appear within a few minutes of the system having completely booted up this way (which I suspect they won't) then you have an application running in the startup group that's causing the problem. You'll need to run msconfig, go to the Startup tab and uncheck any application that has Dell listed under the Manufacturer column. From the look of it the error seems to have something to do with a Dell program that's trying to run its registration applet.
