Dell XPS 15 9550 With Black Screen Issue
I have a XPS 15 9550 UHD, 1TB SSD and using the laptop without major problems for 15 days. Today I have tried to boot into safe mode for windows and pressed the fn+F8 button randomly on the start. It didn't work and i have retried the boot. But right now the the screen is always black, no signs of any Dell Logo or bios login. I can see that there is power on the notebook, fans are working, there is lights on the keyboard but the screen is black and there is absolutely no signs of boot. I also have press and hold the FN + Power button. It didn't work. I have tried everything but its not booting. What could be wrong here? I removed battery and again plug in the battery, but facing the same issue. By the way, I purchased this laptop 15 days ago from Pakistan is it dead or still hope for repair??
Waiting for your kind response..

Hi LUKKS3636,
Check these links - hope it helps resolve the issue.

If it still does not work, download the service manual here - http://dell.to/2d9UV6R- remove the adapter and disconnect the battery and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to release any static power. Try powering on the system with adapter only / battery only and check.
Initiate the onboard diagnostics - press and hold the fn key + power button to turn on the system and check for any possible beep codes.
Run the LCD bist - Turn off the system and press and hold the "D" key + power button to turn on the system and it should run the LCD built in self test - see this link for more info - http://dell.to/1SkXNrG
Connect an external monitor and check.
If it still does not work, try a BIOS recovery - press and hold the end key on the system and connect the adapter - it should initiate BIOS recovery.
Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private conversation with the service tag and your contact details(Name and Email) for case records.
Let us know if you have any other queries.

Dear Rishi..
Thank you for your kind response..
I tried everything but nothing happened to solve this issue.
I went to dell service center and told them complete story, after this, they said, the bios of this machine was crash and your laptop is dead now, in Pakistan, there isn't any service center for International warranty holder customers..
what to do next.
my cousin purchased it from America but now I am facing many issues regarding service center, I can not send this machine to america.
some one told me, he can write its bios but he was also saying that, may be graphics card damaged in this machine..
kindly dear,
help me, I paid 3,000$ to buy this machine.
Regards

Hi LUKKS3636,
Thank you for the update.
Have you tried the BIOS recovery method I had advise you about?
Also check this blog - it might help - http://bit.ly/29qXPzR
If nothing works and assuming the system is under warranty, you could contact our authorized service center in Pakistan - http://dell.to/1yXlL2U
However, as the system was originally purchased in the US, as per the service tag there is no International warranty purchased with the order, and it was only sold with base warranty - Mail In service, the warranty will not be applicable in your country. Find the warranty terms here - http://dell.to/28YsfwC
Let us know if you have any other queries.

Hi Dear DELL-Rishi..
I tried what you mentioned in the last post, I tried, everything to recover the BIOS, but it didn't work..
I plugged in the adopter and press the end button but screen was still black and not responsive,
system was purchased from America but the problem is, I don't have invoice and information of the previous owner, my cousin bought it from a person in America, but dell claimed that, that person isn't the real owner of this laptop.
now, I read this blog and tired it but still it didn't work anymore..
is there any other solution?
Thanks and Regards

You really have two options:
1. Pay for a repalcement mainboard (assuming one is available in your country; it may not be) -- this will not be inexpensive, or
2. Track down the registered owner and initiate a warranty transfer so your local dealer can do a warranty repair (again, assuming your local dealer CAN repair this model -- if that model isn't sold locally, you have no choice but to return it to the US for repair).

Dear enj63.
This model is not available here in local warranty.
I'm ready to pay for replacement of motherboard.
But kindly tell me, in Pakistan, who will be gonna replace the motherboard of this machine.
Thanks and regards

You'll need to go through a Dell vendor locally that can source the part - this system is new, and there won't be much if anything available used at this point, since the boards are likely all under warranty.
The only way you're going to get the owner details is to contact the person who sold the system to you.

Hi LUKKS3636,
I see ejn63 has answered your query regarding the repair options and ownership info.
Dell has not tested the blog - hence that is a non Dell link and can be used for reference only.
I have provided the link for the authorized service partners in your country in my previous post. Kindly check the link.
