Dell Inspiron Screen Flickering

I have a Dell Inspiron 13 7359 2 in 1 and the screen flickers with white dots constantly. At certain angles and also while starting up the screen the screen does not flicker. It does not flicker on an external monitor either. Can you tell me whats wrong and how to fix it Thank you.

First thing:  attach an external monitor.  Does the fault show there, or is the external image solid?

I have apparently the same issue with my Dell Latitude 7480.

When the laptop is connected to an external display (via a Dell WD15 docking station using the external displayport), the image is clear and no flickering occurs. However, if the laptop is not connected to an external display I see a lot of flickering on the laptop screen. This happens irrespective of having the laptop booted without the external display or when disconnecting it from the dock.

This problem occurred only after I updated the system BIOS (on Aug 3 2017).

Also to note, this is only under Linux (Fedora 26), the problem does not occur under Windows 10.

Any hint is appreciated!

I found a workaround for my case (under Linux): When setting the kernel boot parameter i915.enable_rc6=0 the screen is not flickering and everything works as expected.

It does not show up in an external monitor it is related to movement

i noticed that putting downward pressure from the top of the screen gets rid of the flickering pixels.
