Dell Inspiron 15 5548 - Loud Fan Noise Problem.
If you have bought the Dell Inspiron 15 inch 5548 model in 2015 , you would have noticed the fan getting very noisy, sometimes really noisy !
Please install the latest version of BIOS to fix this , it seems the fan noise problem is now gone on installing the latest version of BIOS released on 01 JUNE 2015.
Go to your DELL Product Support page , and download and install latest BIOS file - Inspiron_5548_A04.exe , which was released on 01 June 2015.
Thank You & Have Fun!

Thanks!
I bought the Dell Inspiron 15 5548 in March 2015. Right from day one I noticed Fan noise was annoyingly loud.
I got it replaced, but the noise persisted even till today, when I checked Dell's Product site for new BIOS versions, and it was indeed released!
On installation of Bios A04, the fan has been performing amazingly now...There is literally no noise - as expected !
Thanks for resolving, but I would have appreciated if Dell Engineers were aware of this problem when I contacted tech support !

well i have the same problem : i've installed the last bios update but the problem persists :(
when i verify the GPU temperature it continues to show me 511°C and the fan doesn't stop !!
if you don't have any problems can you verify if you GPU temperature is displayed correctly?
thanks

After Painful month of owning a Loud Noise *** laptop, Dell replaced the Motherboard and heat sink, I also updated the Latest A04 Bios, the problem is half resolved and half not. The Fan still makes loud noise when CPU spike reaches 60 - 80 %, there is something seriously wrong with the BIOS or the Design of the Motherboard but these Dell people are least bothered to provide a permanent fix .
Everything is just Trial and error and leaving users to take charge of the situation and resolve the issues on their own. This is Unbelievable and Disgusting .
Never Ever Dell again.

This issue has still not been solved. I have updated the BIOS several times and even tried multiple operating systems. This fan is ridiculously loud for no reason. How can Dell not fix this issue after this many months? This is ridiculous.

They will never come up with solution, pathetic Dell and its policies and its laptops nowadays.
My laptop motherboards ,fan and heat sink were replaced thrice but still same issue and plenty more. Never again Dell..
