Computer freezing, artifacts on screen (INSPIRON 14 3437)
Hello everybody, I bought my new laptop about 2 weeks ago, everything was smooth until about 3 days ago Dell Update prompted me to download the new BIOS (A07) I updated it and after that my computer would randomly show artifacts and restart inmediately, this happened spontaneously. I was using Windows 8.1 at this moment.
After a while I decided to format my computer to windows 7, I also downgraded my bios back to A05 and this didn't happen until I tried playing a game, this time the screen shows artifacts, flickers and a sound ocasionally plays as if it is stuck, the only way I can stop this from happening is disabling the graphics adapter but I want to be able to play games on my laptop so please help me out.

HI,
You need to go back to BIOS A07 and re- install win 7 64bit to get all drivers back and system running as it should.

You didn't need to downgrade the BIOS, was the thinking on that because you downgraded OS's you needed to downgrade BIOS??
I strongly urge you to keep A07 BIOS on this machine permanently to eliminate future issues and this issue as well.

I downgraded the Bios AFTER installing Windows 7 so I had the problem with A07 on Windows 7, although I still have the problem with A05, I will try reinstalling A07 incase it was a bad flash and come back.

I am back, flashed A07 again, problem still happening, let me try to explain how I get it to work.
Computer boots up normally and displays everything correctly but playing a game will make the computer crash, freezing with artifacts on the screen and a buzzing noise, I can only manually restart the computer.
I tried using the dell stress video test and it crashes within seconds of running this.

Hi, did you find a solution? I have the same issue and the "Dell Guys" don't know what to do...

I don't know if you've found the solution already but this is what worked for me:
The ram that comes with this laptop model is faulty and is the resposible for crashing your laptop, the ONLY solution is to buy new rams for the laptop, so yeah, I had to spend $ to fix my "NEW" laptop.
This is the first time Dell has failed me unfortunately.
