Cant stop this harmonica sound?!?
I just got my new inspiron 6000, it is great in all respects except for this strange harmonica ditty it plays at random intervals. I cant seem to stop it, even after selecting "no sounds" from the audio devices window. "Mute" does keep it off, but I assume that there is another solution...
Anyone else experienced a similar phenomenon?

Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.
Does it sound like a cohesive grouping of notes i.e. like a song of some sort, or is it just a noise?

It only happens when I am not using the computer actively. Only when the screen saver is on...

Try changing your screensaver. It could be that you have a screensaver installed that plays music.

Well here it is like 5 years later and my mom has a Dell Inspiron from 2003 or 2004 and I am having the same problem with the ridiculous harmonica sound. How can it be that nobody knows how to solve this?

The original poster in this thread wrote that the sound only occurs when the screen saver is on. Is that the same symptom you have? Are you on the internet when you heard it? What is your model and operating system, and your mom's?
