Can't connect to INet via Netgear WiFi Modem supplied from Time Warner

Dell Inspiron N4010, Windows 7 x64
Netgear Wireless Modem: CGD24G
Using Explorer, Chrome & Foxfire

Frustrated!  Laptop can connect to the Netgear modem/router via wireless just fine. PROBLEM, I can't connect to the internet.  Occasionally if I "refresh", I can get to a website, but it's slow and not consistent.  The Dell Inspiron DOES connect to other networks (campus network and linksys network)

Other facts are:
1) this laptop connects to my other networks via Linksys wireless routers just fine and very fast.
2) other devices can connect fine to the Netgear router/modem (i.e., Apple Laptop, Iphone and android phone) so the only problem is the Dell
3) We have exchanged the Netgear hardware 2 times (on 3rd device now).  We have reset it several times with the Roadrunner technician on site.
4) We have made several adjustments to the DNS settings as well as deleted and reinstated the wireless connections.
5) The Installed Intel Wireless Diagnostics program shows no issues when I run that.

I was hoping that updating the wireless drivers via the Dell website would help but to no avail.  I feel that we have done most everything possible but I'm missing something.  Again, the Dell Laptop does work on other networks just fine and other devices work on the Netgear network.  I could purchase another Linksys router but I'm trying not to spend more $$.

Thoughts?

Twist747,

Try using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11. I would make a new SSID to make connecting easier.

You're not using Mac Address filtering, are you?

On a working system, run Network Interface and it may reveal something.

On the problem system, Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and REGISTERED OWNER, if using XP, run an ipconfig /all log and post it back here.

What virus program and firewall are you using?
