700m SD High Capacity Support

Hi, I've been having problems using a high capacity (2GB 155x) SD memory card with the 700m. I'm wondering if it's the card or the software. Has anyone else been successful in using high capacity SD cards with the 700m, and if so what brand is the card? thanks for the help!

no success with my 2gb either. drivers seem really outdated and doesn't seem like it will be updated either. seems like loading throgh the camera's usb is the only solution.

Ditto for my new San Disk 2GB card.  Even though my card readers which are older than the 700m work with it fine, the 700M won't write or read with it, even though it does bring up the icon, so it at least knows it there.  Does seem strange that Dell hasn't done a driver update for the reader, since Dell sells the card.......

yeah mine does the same, it keeps asking me to format, but it won't do that either when you click on yes. I have a corsair 2GB SD 133x.

are you listening dell?

Tried calling tech support.....gave up after 20 minutes......had no idea what I was talking about......

Tried looking for a driver elsewhere, Texas instruments makes the reader, but didn't find anything.....

The 4 gig SD cards are out, and I think bigger ones are coming.  One of the reasons I bought the 700M was the built in card reader. I have them in everything, Axiom PPC, cameras, MP3 players etc.

Not much good if I can't use them in the 700........

Thanks for trying Mike.

The 4 GB cards are out now also.  I specifically got the 700M because it had a built in SD reader.  Virtually everything I have uses SD cards.

It would be nice if Dell would fix this...... With 2GB cards now selling for under 100 bucks, you would think it will become a bigger issue......

Same problem here. Also, my 700m will not recognize my 2gb Sandisk Sansa mp3 player (usb). Not sure if the two problems are related?

4 gb sd not working here.   No support from Dell.  What to do now?  Is my 700m outdated by a low capacity sd drive?

Just bought a 4 gb sd card for my digital camera, I wished I found this forum first, now it seems I have to use the cables to transfer the pics over to my 700m.  I also tried hardware support and have not gotten an answer.
