Unable to install Intel Thunderbolt Controller Driver
Hello,
I have been trying to install Intel Thunderbolt Controller Driver with no luck as the installation fails with error code 0x80070643 - Fatal error during installation. I've tried installing it by extracting separately and also running is an admin, but still no luck.

Same issue when updating Alienware m17 R4 with Intel-Thunderbolt-Controller-Driver_TBTC0_WIN_1.41.1193.0_A11.EXE. There is a broken file: "Thunderbolt(TM) Software Installer.exe" in the package. Dell please fix the issue!

Hello,
I have the issue with Dell published a broken update for Thunderbolt-Controller-Driver, "Intel-Thunderbolt-Controller-Driver_TBTC0_WIN_1.41.1193.0_A11.EXE". It is not a search for technical assistance. Just make a fix and publish the working update!

Same result. Exact same driver update. Dell G7 7500 laptop.
Setup failed.
0x80070643 - Fatal error during installation.

It looks like that on my machine the Intel Thunderbolt update was installed through Windows update service earlier in November 2021. Because of that the system didn't apply "Intel-Thunderbolt-Controller-Driver_TBTC0_WIN_1.41.1193.0_A11.EXE" for Alienware m17 R4 package.
Strange that output was "Fatal error". I would expect something like "the same version is already installed".

I received the replacement system which is a refurb inspiron 5510 on 01-11-2021 in exchange of a faulty inspiron 5502 I originally had.
Been using it for 2 days now, noticed an issue and contacted customer support. So far no luck with the issue, Brief about the issue-I have 2 external monitors connected to this system
1st Monitor via HDMI to HDMI
2nd Monitor via USB-type c to HDMI.
Whenever a system is on sleep for little while or when system is restarted, the 2nd monitor connected via usb-c to HDMI dont come up. I have to manually unplug the usb c chord from the machine and plug back in to make it work, which is super annoying.
I tried the customer support few times
1st they did some troubleshooting with resolution settings, that fixed nothing.
2nd they asked me to completely perform a clean install of the OS( Windows 11) that didn't help at all either.
3rd finally one of the tech supervisors took the remote access to troubleshoot the issue and was trying to install this thunderbolt controller driver but it kept giving this fetal error 0x80070643. After which they promised at home service in which they will replace the motherboard and if that dont fix the issue they will replace it with another unit.
But After going through this thread, I am thinking that this issue that I am having may or may not be something that is related to Thunderbolt controller driver update. Is anyone facing similar issue as I mentioned above and has anyone tried any thing that might have fixed the issue.

Same here, I'm using Dell xps 13 9310 and cannot install intel thunderbolt controller drive.
Expecting solutions from people who are not Dell support, because all Dell support answer never help, they need to overhaul their team's knowledge before providing advice to people.

Please verify that you all have the latest version of BIOS installed & then try updating the Thunderbolt controller
One of the issues was fixed with BIOS 1.9.0 that was released in Jan. “- Fixed the issue where the external monitor does not display anything after resuming from Sleep state.”
There was also a BIOS fix/change in that same BIOS related to Thunderbolt docks, “- Fixed the issue where the VPN stops working after the system resumes from Sleep state. This issue occurs when the system is connected to the Internet through an Ethernet cable that is connected to the Thunderbolt dock” .It is possible that the BIOS needs to be updated, if the TBT FW is out of date.
