New Dell inspiron gaming 7577 died on me.
My new inspiron 7577 died on me today while on me while I was working on my university project. It just turned off and did not turned on again. When I plugged the charger the light on the charger turns off. I used this laptop for only 2 months. It's my workhorse for university and now I don't even know how to continue my project work.

Thank you for your message. I will be glad to look into this for you.
Please disconnect the power cord, press & hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Check if the light on the AC adapter is on, now connect the charger to the computer & check if the light on the adapter stays on.
If the light turns off this could be an issue with the motherboard. Do you have an alternate adapter to check?
For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Dell-Sreejith R) & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.

How could the motherboard died on a brand new laptop? This is the last dell product I'm buying. This laptop has failed me completely and I cannot even work on my project.

If removing battery doesn't work, I suggest you reseat (or remove) Memory. The system has two sodium slots.

He just letting you know the problem could be an issue with the motherboard but not necessary the motherboard needs to be replace yet. You'll have to do more troubleshooting to help determine if the motherboard indeed needs to be replace. Whenever I have a problem with a computer, one of the first troubleshoot steps I usually will do is reseat the battery. If you are comfortable opening computer case then I suggest following the steps below:
1. Remove all peripherals, AC adapter, and battery. Press and hold the Power On button for 15 second to drain residual power.
2. Replace battery, adapter and then power on system. Hopefully computer starts normally.
Note: Please read Service Manual thoroughly before attempting to open computer case and removing battery.

I'm assuming the LED light on the AC adapter stays on while connecting to the computer....
Check if the ID pin inside the plug or adapter port is bent, broken or damaged. Check the wall outlet and adapter brick are firmly connected to each other.I also suggest using an air can blower to blow any dust that may accumulated around the ID pin and inside the AC adapter's charging port.

That means there is a short circuit in the DC jack or on the mainboard - contact Dell for warranty repair. If you cannot be without the system, first purchase an upgrade to an onsite service plan (after purchase, this runs about $200US or equivalent). Then call for repair.

Hi RudyAlwin,
How's your issue right now? I'm also having an issue like yours. I will take it back to my dealer. Can it be repaired?
Thank you! GOD Bless!

I have had my motherboard replaced twice under warranty for this issue. Same thing happened each time. It suddenly turned off and that was that. Charger turns off when plugged into the unit.

My laptop also died yesterday same issue as yours.
It was working fine the day before but now it doesn't turn on . I did shut it down normally and when i tried to boot it the next day this issue happened.
My exams are near and its frustrating .

If you haven't tried removing the External power prior to booting, do that.
Do you have symptoms where the power light on the charger goes out when you plug it in? If you do, possibly a bad charger or it is not seeing what it needs when plugged in.
