Inspiron 15 5510 - fan adjustment
Hello everybody,
I bought an Inspiron 15 5510 (i5-11320H) and I'm really enjoying the machine overall, but there is one point that bothers me and could easily be resolved by Dell's software engineering.
What happens is that this notebook favors silence over performance and its fan takes too long to start rotating, let alone to reach maximum rotation... That's right in Ultraperformance mode.
The notebook can work at a relatively high power, but this adjustment impairs performance in heavier tasks with a little longer running time.
If there are 4 types of settings in My Dell to choose from, why leave the Ultraperformance mode with the fan running so "lazy"? Even at its maximum, the noise is quite low... it seems that the maximum rpm that Dell allows it to work is well below what it could be.
As I said, the machine is very good, but an adjustment at this point could greatly improve the use in higher performance-demanding tasks with longer duration.
I believe that in this version without dGPU the fan adjustment is much more passive than in the version with the MX450.
I ask that the community administrators/moderators convey my message to the responsible section of Dell.
A more aggressive fan profile in Ultra Performance mode would suffice. For silence, just keep it on the Optimized profile, or even more, the Silent profile, but for when more performance is needed, the Ultraperformance profile with the cooler kicking in more actively and with a higher rotation!
Thank you!
