Headphone PORT is NOT working
Hi, I have a DELL INSPIRON 3501 Intel i3 11th gen
from the beginning, the port only recognizes TRS headphones. but after a month after purchase, the headphone jack is not recognized by the computer. I want to know if
1. hardware problem?
2. software/Driver problem?
3. is this a TRS or TRRS supported port
4. SOLUTION
Thank you

Headphone Jack requires WaveMaxx to function.
1. Open Task manager > Start up > Enable WaveMaxx
2 Open Run > MSCONFIG > Services > Both Realtek and WaveAudio should be checked
3. Settings > Privacy > Background apps > WaveMaxx should be enabled
Reboot
In case WaveMaxx is missing from above locations. Please reinstall Audio Drivers.

Hello XPS_MAN,
I got the same issue, but my Inspiron 3501 came with Cirrus Logic CS8409 Audio Controller.
So waves Maxxaudio pro doesn't work on mine because it's dedicated to Realtek. Updating driver didn't help.
So no headset detection.
Any help is appreciated.

hooray, after weeks of no headphones and trying all the other solutions, dumping the driver for the new one solved it, thanks

@XPS_Man My problem is, that the Wavesmaxx Service is constantly using about 30% CPU. There are threads about that, too. So I am not the only one having this problem!
So I deactivated the MaxxAudio Service, helps with performance but now the headphone jack is not doing anything anymore. What should I do? Any alternative to using the headphone jack without MaxxAudio, please? This is really frustrating, since it's such a basic function!

Thanks! This worked.
I had to first be sure that both the Realtek-High-Definition-Audio driver and Waves-MaxxAudio-Pro app were installed.
