3 external displays + internal one on Dell G7 7588
Hello. Is it possible to connect 3 external displays to G7 with gtx 1060 using hdmi port and usb-c to dual HDMI adapter (https://www.sonnettech.com/product/thunderbolt3-to-dual-hdmi-adapter.html)? And use them with internal display.

Dell support told that it will work. Let's try :)

One additional note: That's a Thunderbolt to Dual HDMI adapter, not a USB-C to Dual HDMI adapter. The distinction matters, because a) if your system had a regular USB-C port, you wouldn't be able to use that adapter, and b) the fact that it uses Thunderbolt means it's getting twice as much display bandwidth (dual DisplayPort outputs from the GPU) compared to USB-C that only provides at most a single DisplayPort output, or half the bandwidth of a regular output if you're using a USB-C dock since that setup requires half of the USB-C port's high speed lanes to be dedicated to carrying USB data traffic. The difference in bandwidth received from the system affects the display configurations allowed with the adapter in terms of display quantity and/or resolution.

Report back. I'm not certain it will. It will depend on which GPU in that system is physically wired to the display outputs. The Intel GPU built into the CPU only supports a maximum of three total independent displays, so if the Intel GPU is wired to all outputs and the NVIDIA GPU in that system is set up as a render-only device, which is the most common design for dual GPU systems, you won't be able to run four displays. However, if the USB-C and/or the built-in HDMI output are wired directly to the NVIDIA GPU, which is sometimes the case on gaming-oriented laptops, then it should work. I seriously doubt whoever you talked to at Dell Support actually knew all of this since they tend not to know design details on individual systems like this, but they may turn out to have been right despite having guessed.

Thanks for your deep answers, happy to see someone who understands what he's talking about.
Support usually speaks without certainty when they don't know, but at this time it looked like they knew.
G7 supports thunderbolt 3.0 - I think it's compatible.
Yes, I know that chances are low - that's why I ask, but AFAIK HDMI is wired to GTX and DP is driven by Intel. Anyway, I will sell Dell and buy MSI GT if it won't work. But who will return my lost time?

Forgive me the hardware talk is a bit much for me at this time (research) so I will super simplify my question:
I have an Inspiron i5-3567 -- Currently using a DELL U2410 monitor (laptop screen and monitor) -- I would like to add another one making it (laptop screen and 2 dell monitors). Is this possible?

Looking at the product page for that system, the only video output it has is a single HDMI output. You don't have anything like DisplayPort, USB-C, or even VGA, so there isn't a way to physically attach a second external display. And a single HDMI output cannot be split to allow multiple independent displays; you can only split an HDMI output if you want mirrored displays, which I'm guessing you don't. In that case, your only option with that system would be a DisplayPort or HDMI to USB adapter. That will allow you to attach another display, but those types of adapters use DisplayLink technology or an equivalent, and that has some drawbacks. I wrote those up in this thread, specifically the post marked as the answer, if you're curious. The very short version is that if you'd only be using this new display for basic productivity tasks, then you're unlikely to notice the drawbacks, or they'll at least be hugely outweighed by the benefits of having another display. But if you'd be using it for a lot of full screen video or gaming, it won't be a satisfactory solution.

ive got a g7 7500 running nvidia gtx 20 series and im able to run two 50" samsung tv as monitors in 4k using the display port and the hdmi. if the laptop screen is opened the resolution drops down on the two monitors and i have not played with it at all to tell you if you can get the res adjusted back up to 4k cause two 50" screens in 4k is more than enough screen real estate for me and i want to just leave my laptop closed. but yes technically you can run three screens including the laptop screen.

Are you using some kind of adapter to run your external display setup? If so, what are you using? I want to use dual external monitors with my G7 7700 and am unsure whether I need a separate displayport adapter. Thanks.
