The Dell tech person I chatted with told me I have to revert back to the factory install, which will remove all programs, settings and files. I have not done that yet.
Before talking to tech support, I had already updated the Intel HD drivers and NVIDIA video drivers.
She installed DELL CLICK 2 FIX DOWNLOAD MANAGER, I don't know if that's available on their web site or not, and ran tests.
During this Google Earth now has a problem starting in regular mode and I have to start it selecting a different video driver from it's properties drop-down box.
Clearly, DELL has no fix to this mess

somehow I got the power driver and the video driver problem to go away. I ran scans, removed as many programs as I could, updated the INTEL video driver and the NVIDIA driver...something caused the problem to go away...UNTIL I got an update from DELL last week and it all started over again. After several days of crashing and auto-rebooting every few hours every day, it stopped again. I don't know why.
