Issues With Remote Control

I just purchased off of eBay a Dell Angel TV Tuner along with the Microsoft IR Receiver and a Remote Control. I'm using it on a laptop with Vista Ultimate on it and the tuner works just fine. The IR Receiver installed without any problems. My issue is that if I try to use the remote the Receiver lights up, but no action takes place on the computer. I got no manuals when I got the device and the only thing in paper I got was a quick setup guide from Dell with a copyright of 2006 and a barcode on the bottom of 0TH456A00. The remote isn't the standard Windows Media Center remote, it is very similar though. It has a house in the spot where the Media Center logo normally goes and says Dell on the bottom. The only markings on the back are:

FCC, VCCI, C, E

RC6 ir

US Patent 5,877,702

Please help me out.

My guess would be that is not Vista capable either. is there any info on the Ir receiver

Is this simular to your remote

Doing a Google search seems that these things are designed to work with MCE system as that appears to be where one sets up the remote functions.

Thanks but that is for the TV Tuner. I'm not having any problems with that working, just the remote commands aren't being used by the computer.

The add states windows media center. Do you have media center installed? If not the remote will not work.

Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Ultimate include Windows Media Center from default.
