Installing Windows 7 with SATA mode set to Intel Smart Response Technology Mode.
I have Dell Inspiron 14z 5423. Recently this ultrabook crashed and I had to fresh install windows 7. When I tried to install Win 7 then it didn't load any of the Hard disk. Someone suggested me to change the SATA mode to AHCI ( Previously it was set to Intel Smart Response Technology Mode.). I installed win 7 with AHCI mode enabled ( but I also had to delete the whole 500 GB Hardisk unfortunately). The installation how ever was successful but the performance I think has been degraded. It used to boot so fast previously but Now it takes much time to boot and also battery performance has been reduced.
Now I again want to Re-install windows 7 with Intel Smart Response Technology Mode set in BIOS. Please help me with the detailed and step wise instruction for installing windows. Coz as I change the SATA mode to Intel Smart Response Technology Mode then it does'nt show the hard disks.
I would me much grateful If i receive the solution from the Official Dell Support Team.

Hi TusharKhatiwada,
You should be able to install Windows 7 with Intel Smart Response Technology mode. You may follow the steps below:
Now to ‘Accelerate’ the HDD using ISRT, you may follow the steps below:
Note: Enhanced mode: Acceleration is optimized for data protection.Maximized mode: Acceleration is optimized for input/output performance.
Once this is done the SDD drive will not be visible in windows.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted with the findings.

Thank you for the Answer.
But I didn't do the following steps:
Go to RAID BIOS and disable accelerate option for SSD (Use Ctrl+I at ‘Dell’ logo)
Initiate OSRI
Does that make any difference?
My system is running fine now. I only had one problem after installation. My system freezed after some minutes and I had to shutdown using the power button. It repeated many times. After I changed some Advanced options of the Wifi driver, it was also solved and upto now it is working fine.

Hi TusharKhatiwada,
Thank you for the reply. I am happy to hear that the system is working fine now. If you are able to use acceleration now on the system then there are no changes required and you are good to go.
Please feel free to reply for any further questions. I will be glad to assist.

It won't format your hard disk rather the OS doen't boot and gives Blue Screen and restarts.
I have tried those and I have experienced those problems.

Thank you again.
I pressed "CTRL + I" when the Dell logo shows up but nothing happened.
What is the problem with that?

I would suggest you to reset BIOS to defaults. You may follow the steps below:
Now try using + I to go to the RAID BIOS.

Hi shift_here,
Changing the SATA Operations from AHCI to ISRT should not affect the data installed on the system as such. However, the system may not be able to boot and you will get error messages. I would suggest you to keep the ‘SATA Operations’ to factory installed state.
Please feel free to reply for any further questions. I will be glad to assist.
