Dell Vostro 5568
I recently bought a Vostro 5568. My config came with a 1TB harddisk. It has an extra slot for a M.2 2280 SSD. And therefore I bought a Intel SSD 600p 256GB NVMe disk. But the laptop doesn't recognize the disk either in windows or bios. I have tried different settings in bios but no luck. I have tested the SSD on a other system and it recognized the SSD. So either its my configuration in bios that wrong or its a non compatible SSD.
What SSDs does Dell support? Is I doing something wrong?

So far, with just one exception, all Inspiron/Vostro systems that support M.2 SSDs require the SATA version - PCIe/NVMe not supported.
The lone Inspiron that takes NVMe/PCIe drives is the 7566.

Thanks! That makes more sense. I actually talked to a Dell supporter earlier and he did not mention anything about it didnt support NVMe/PCIe. But the world of M.2 isn't that intuitive. I will try to get a SATA SSD.
Thanks again

Hey Abehjerne.
I just bought the Vostro 5568 with an i7 and a 1TB HDD. I have the same intentions for upgrading as i can see you have/had. Can you give me an update on which SSD you ended up buying, and if the upgrade was succesful?
Thanks in advance.
Regards Johnny

Hi Johnny,
I ended up buying a Sandisk X400 256gb. Its a SATA SSD. Sadly the 5568 doesn't support NVMe disk. But it is still worth the upgrade. My dell is much faster now. And I think the battery performance is improved a little.
I hope it was useful.

Hi again.
I ended up buying a Samsung Evo 850 M.2 SATA SSD for mine before i saw your answer. Your answer was still helpful, in the sense that now i know that the SSD and HDD setup configuration will work before i open my computer up and try it for myself. Thanks!
