Monitoring SAN via SNMP (PRTG)
Good day,
I'm trying to enable monitoring of the storages in PRTG using SNMP. I'm using Dells MIBs for the particular storage and firmware, but I'm having difficulties to find the right OID which corresponds with Critical, Warning and Caution messages the way it is displayed in SAN HQ.
MIB contains many OIDs, which are very granular and specific. At this stage, I'm interested in general overview only (Errors, Critical, Warning etc).
Do you know where to find descriptions for Dells OIDs or which one to use?

There is a Plugin for Nagios and maybe you can use the Source to find the specific OIDs youre looking for. Please keep in mind that it works "more" on Group rather than Member level.

Hi Don, we are currently using SANHQ, but I'd like to get the status/messages to our monitoring tool via SNMP, to avoid constantly looking on multiple SWs (something like overall health). The MIB for EL is very complex and I can't locate the right OID to sent just the status messages from SANHQ or from EL. Thank you Tom
