desktop switches on, no output to monitor via hdmi or vga cable.
computer was working fine last night, just tried turning on now.
fan kicks in on full, monitor says no input and stays blank, computer unresponsive to boot disks, switches of instant power button presses, usually have to hold in for 2 seconds.
its a dell inspiron 580 desktop with a dell widescreen monitor, is about 2 years old.
tried vga and hdmi cable, all was working fine yesterday tho day before it did crash through macafee and disk defrag freezing.
any help greatly recieved!
cheers

Hi Joe,
Sounds like a power-on-self-test (POST) error. So you never see the Dell boot-up logo? Do you hear and beeps?

No beeps, hard drives and fans kick in the stays like that. Took it in to a repair shop else I'd try fixing it with a hammer!
Cheers for replying. Joe
