XPS 710 usb mouse problems
Hello to anyone that can help,
I've recently bought a new plug and play optical gaming mouse (A4tech X-748K), and I'm having problems with getting it to work. My old mouse is an basic optical mouse and works fine, but I plug in the new one and I get the 'New hardware found' wizard screen. I run the wizard but to no avail. The mouse came with a software cd, but this only has a button editor on it, no drivers, and I can't find any drivers online! I have tried the mouse on another computer and it works fine, just auto installs and then works, this is running windows 7, the spec lists this mouse as XP compatible.
The lights on the mouse work on start up until the xp loading screen but then go out.
I am at a bit of a loss and getting quite frustrated with it. Could it be an USB hub issue? Driver issue? Any other issue!???
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is meant to be a cracking mouse.
Merry Christmas

Thanks, I've tried that but all it contains is the same software I got on the cd that came with the mouse. The wizard can't find any drivers in it and I've installed the software, when loaded it prompts me to plug in the mouse, which it is, but is not working.
I have a feeling this might be a USB port issue as it worked on another computer, but all my ports seem to work with everything else I have plugged in. Keyboard, wireless dongle, printer, old mouse. I have the mouse plugged in the back as I've read this does make a difference if I plug in the front or monitor.
I have read in the instructions about removing and uninstalling old mouse drivers, but I wouldn't know where to find them, any ideas?
Cheers

Have you tried the mouse in the other USB back connectors?
What does it say in device manager when you have the mouse pluged in?

Yes tried all the connectors, no joy. The device manager searches for drivers and software but finds nothing, then brings up the promt that the usb device could not be installed and won't work properly. Got a driver from dell for optical mouse but this hasn't had any effect .
Please help if you can.
