XPS 420, A07, can't access BIOS setup
What it says on the tin. I've just updated an XPS 420 from the A02 to the A07 bios, and where before I could access both the bios setup and the boot menu, the former now seems to have vanished.
Pressing the F2 key causes an 'Entering setup' message to be displayed, but after the screen flickers a few times, the system simply boots straight to Windows. Pressing the F12 key gets me to the boot menu, but attempting to enter the bios setup from there just gives me the same result - a flickering screen, and then it resumes booting to Windows.
If anyone has any idea what's causing this or how to fix it other than rolling back to an earlier bios, I'd be extremely grateful.

could be a bad flash or a reset issue. Try resetting your bios if you have not made any changes or are running a RAID array. If not try:
unplugging the computer and then press and hold the power button for 10~15 sec
Open the case, locate your system battery and remove it noting the orientation of the battery.
Once the battery is removed repeat the press and hold again.
Wait about 5 min and then reinsert the battery.
Plug it in and see if it makes any difference.

Belay that - during another attempt at getting into the bios setup, I got a quick flash of an error message that either wasn't being displayed before, or was getting lost in the screen flickering. Googling the few words that I managed to catch led me to this; I promptly unplugged the DVI cable, hooked it up to the tv with an S-video cable instead, rebooted, and got into the bios setup without a hitch.
All the same, thanks for your help!

The problem is, I have fast boot disabled (or I think I do - I can't check!), allowing me to use a USB keyboard before the OS loads. If I reset the bios, will I lose the ability to use the USB keyboard for pre-OS boot functions? Getting hold of a PS/2 keyboard would be an extra hassle that I'd really love not to have to deal with.
