What is the maximum widescreen resolution for a Geforce 6200 PCI card?

Hello,

I am using an Albatron Geforce 6200 PCI card in my dimension 2400.  It is has three outputs. One DVI, one VGA, and one s-video.   I have been able to gather by from the specs and by searching around that the maximum 4:3 resolutions are 2048x1536 for vga and 1600x1200 for DVI.

However, I have not been able to find out any information as to what the maximum widescreen resolutions are.  I am mainly concerned with whether or not I can use DVI if I purchase a monitor that is capable of 1680x1050 or 1920x1200.  I would imagine the vga port would be able to output these resolutions.  I am not really concerned with gaming performance or fps as the 6200 already performs poorly at 1024x768.  Thanks in advance for your help

1680 x 1050 and 1920 x 1200 fall outside of 1600 x 1200. Even if either may have less total pixels, if either it's width or height exceeds 1600 or 1200 respectively, it's too large. As far as i know, it has to be under 1600 x 1200, no matter what aspect ratio, or it's considered too large.

That being said, I was under the impression that the GeForce FX and prior cards were limited to 1600 x 1200 through DVI, and that the GeForce 6 series and up could go higher. I did come accross this on Wikipedia while searching.

"There are reports of incompatibility between GeForce 6 series cards and some wide aspect ratio LCD panels when connected through DVI"
