Question on replacing my wireless mouse with a wired mouse
I attempted a search on this question but for some reason the search is taking forever and I'm not able to research it.
I have had a Dell wireless keyboard/mouse combo for 2 months. I have already gone through 2 sets of batteries for the mouse. Although I like the wireless freedom of the mouse it is not worth it at the expense of replacing the batteries every month or buying a re-chargeable battery system. I got the wireless combo as a free upgrade when I ordered my system so I don't mind repalacing the wireless mouse. I would like to go back to my old Logitech wired mouse. Are there any issues that I need to be aware of before I do this? Do I need to uninstall any of the wireless mouse software before insatalling the wired mouse software? Can I just do a mouse replacement and not affect the wireless keyboard?
I have yet to need to replace the keyboard batteries. I love the keyboard so hopefully I won't have to replace the batteries in it too often and I can continue to use it without being eaten alive by battery replacement costs.

You shouldn't experience any problems swapping mice. Especially if you go with a Logitech - most Dell provided wireless rodents seem to be of that species.
Your battery usage isn't unusual - going with rechargeable NiMh types will pay for itself over the long run versus one time alkalines. And if you get a quality charger and a couple sets of batteries, you're set for use in other portable devices as well.
Most folks are seeing a year or so on a set of quality alkalines in the keyboard - it only transmits when you hit the keys, so its power use is much lower. Keyboard should not be affected by mouse change in any way.
