How to get Inspiron 2350 Discrete Graphics working with Win 8.1

I've just upgraded my Inspiron 2350 AIO to win 8.1 and the ATI discrete graphics has stopped working. I have rolled back to Dell delivered Intel HD and ATI drivers, but it doesn't work. Has anyone been able to get the ATI graphics to work with Windows 8.1?

:emotion-2: Looks like it's working!

I right clicked on the ATI / AMD gpu in Device Manager and told Windows to install the latest driver. Despite installing the "latest" beta from the AMD site, Windows downloaded a new one (no idea where from) and now I have switchable graphics back on Win8.1.

To recap:

Installed Intel HD driver from Dell

Installed AMD driver (Beta) from AMD

Installed latest Intel HD driver (right click on Intel HD in Device Manager and Update Driver)

Installed latest AMD driver (right click on AMD in Device Manager and Update Driver)

Hi Andywinp,

Try the AMD driver.

Thanks Osprey4 - I've installed the latest (Beta) AMD drivers and updated the Intel HD driver and the system will now boot and Catalyst Control Center will display. However, Windows 8.1 disables the ATI GPU as it encounters an error:

ATI EEU Client has failed to start

I can't find anything meaningful about this error :(

I'm having this issue now, though I only recently realized it. I've tried installing newer drivers for both the Intel and AMD GPUs, but I cannot get the AMD to run. If I disable the Intel adapter in Device Manager, it appears to work, but if I try to play a game (like Minecraft), I get an error that no drivers were found. At that point, I also will no longer be able to launch the Catalyst Control Center, even though it worked before launching the game.

Every time I reboot, the Intel adapter is running, and I cannot get it to stop. I want to use the AMD card since 1) I paid for it and 2) the Intel adapter has a known issue that has gone unfixed for over two years (affecting Minecraft and other games).

What can I do?
