How do I turn off mouse?

I have a dell wireless keyboard and mouse. I can turn off my computer, turn off all the power,  and yet my mouse is still on going at the speed of light. Needless to say I am going through new batteries sometimes every 2 days.

Also I need to find out more about my keyboard. It there not a taskbar warning icon that blinks or something when my keyboard batteries are low (like there is for my mouse)?

Ty :)

I would like to know the same thing. We have the same problem. I've called Dell and talked with several people already. First of all, I was told it was defective, it should shut off automatically when the computer shuts down. So they sent me a new keyboard and mouse. It stills does it. So I called again, and was told that's just the way it is. So I asked to talk to his manager, she had me check all this stuff. Still it did it. I was told a tech manager would call me later that day at a designated time (which I waited for how long for) and they never called. I haven't heard back. In the mean time we go through batteries once a month.

Logically, I would think that yes it should shut off when the computer shuts down. Hopefully someone else with a wireless keyboard can tell us if theirs does the same thing.

On the signal receiver there's a picture of the keyboard, next to the picture of the mouse, if that lights up red those batteries are low. Your cap lock and number lock are also on here on the left side. It took us a while to figure all this out too. It would be nice if this keyboard came with instructions. Believe me, I've tried looking everywhere for detailed instructions about the whole thing, and couldn't find anything.

This is basically what I was told when I first called Dell. That's why they sent me a new key board kit, but this one doesn't turn off either. Now they're just telling me that all wireless sets are this way. So, do you have the wireless dell key board? If so, does your mouse light shut off completely? By adapter, do you mean the receiver? I was told that if one part is defective, they have to send the whole kit.

Yes, I know how to shut down the whole computer properly.
