Error message - "the ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally"

I have an Optiplex GX520, 12 months old, running on XP Pro
On a regular basis - once every couple of hours my display changes to something like 800x640 and the error message appears telling me that my video driver is no good.
I reboot the pc and everything works fine until the next time
I have re-installed most of my drivers including 82945G Express Chipset Family and of course ialmrnt5. I have copied these a number vof times; from a third party provider, from Intel website and most recently from Dell.
The problem continues..
I do have a next day back to base warranty but is this covered? I suspect Dell will say that this is a software issue and therefore not covered?
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks
Martin

mattcurtis,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Have you installed a Sims game? This error is normally associated with playing the Sims game with the onboard video that is not compatable. You will need a different video card to play high graphic 3D games.

Thanks for your reply Jesse.
No, we've not installed any games on that pc. It is used for MS office applications - esp excell, word and access only.
Don't really want to buy a graphics card just for these.
Is there a work around?
Cheers
Matt
