Ah thanks about the power supply, I finally got it fitted in :D and just wondering, on where you put the heatsink, on each side are there two sort of square catches for the silver latches? cause on each side I only see one on the left and I think the ones on the right might have broke

I have one of these. AFAIK the power supply slides into place on top of rails and is fastened in place by four screws. The heat sink clips on to a standard Socket 478 mounting bracket; mine broke, and I replaced it with a generic from eBay.

Try replacing the heat sink retention bracket.

The heatsink brackets get brittle over time, so I suggest getting a new one.

Alright recently I just received a 12 year old Dell Dimension 2350 caked in dust so I decided to do some cleaning on the inside. There's two problems; one being that I can't reinsert the power supply and the second being that I don't know how to reattach the heat sink in place (I found two latches but they fell off once I got access to the heatsink) Please help, there are no instructions anywhere on how to do this /:

As the Dimension 2400 has the same chassis as the 2350, you can use the same service manual, here:

A 2350 heat sink retention bracket can be purchased from here:
