Cannot find server or DNS Error
Hello:
I have Windows XP and my internet explorer constantly displays this error message "Cannot Find Server or DNS Error" how can I fix this error message with Windows XP? The only posts I see is with Windows 95 & 98 but not XP.
Here is my information!
OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 5.1.2600 Build 2600
System Model XPST800
System Type X86-based PC
Processor x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 3 GenuineIntel ~798 Mhz
BIOS Version/Date Intel Corp. A11, 10/13/2000

DNS is provided by your access provider. If you have DNS problems then you must contact your ISP.
To be sure if it really is a DNS issue try this.
Go to a site that won't come up. Find the number address of that site and use that instead if the www.name.com. If the address works using the number address and not the www address then your problem is a DNS issue.
An example:
http://www.myrosa.com
equals
63.151.147.82

Replying to a post that is about 1.5 years old is not a good way to get help on a new problem. Next time start a new thread rather than replying to an ancient one. Try running winsockfix for Windows XP from the Here and if that doesn't work try lspfix from Here.
