CMOS Clearing ?

This is in regards to an Intel mobo D875PBZ: This is a new mobo replacement.  I updated the bios and all went fine.  The OS has not been installed yet.  I have read where some clear the cmos by removing the cmos battery, but that a very small amount of voltage still can remain and cause it not to clear properly. I have also read that when in the bios to hit the F9 key etc and that will clear the cmos. In addition I have been told that clearing the cmos by moving the jumper on the mobo is the way to go. Intels website is not clear on any of this and neither is the mobo booklet.  Also with the 3 different methods above you can see how it can get a little confusing. I think I would like to go with the jumper method. Can someone give me step by step instructions on how to do it the jumper way.  Thanks................ The link below is for Intel's web site and the web page dealing with the motherboard jumper for your motherboard. The jumper isn't removed, but actually reconfigured to put the machine into "Maintenance Mode." One of the options of Maintenance Mode should be to clear the CMOS. The reason I say should is I have never cleared the CMOS on this style of board so the option may not be available in the Maintenance Mode menu.

Otherwise the battery removal option is another simple way to clear the CMOS. To guarantee that all the residue charge is dispersed from the motherboard simply turn the computer on with it unplugged and the battery removed.

Thanks. I already knew about Intel and puting the jumper in the maintenance mode but Intell mentions this to clear passwords, they don't mention about clearing the cmos. At least not in the booklet that comes with the mobo. I will check the link you provided. Thanks again for you help.................
