issues with Firmware baseline objects in device view
I was hoping this would be fixed in v3.1 but still is not.
I have 235 R540 idrac's/ESXi 6.5 Hosts managed by OpenManage Enterprise 3.1, soon to be adding another 100 of the same and then 170 iDRAC/windows servers as we continue to move into the environment. As most of these hosts so far are the same model and catalog, I would like them to all be under the same Firmware Baseline.
However, I have found that once over 100ish servers are on the same baseline, when you go into the firmware tab from the device view. You have the pulldown to select the desired assigned baseline, however once selected no content is generated, just blank. This only happens on some of the hosts. It seems to be happening mostly to the devices that would be the listed first if sorted by ascending order. When you view the baseline compliance report all components show up fine.
As a work-around I made several smaller groups that are smaller and made a separate baseline for each group. tied to the same dell catalog.
I have also noticed that once I update inventory on 1 host that all baselines reports will run, even though they do not include the host that was updated. This seems very inefficient.
Furthermore, when exporting said baseline compliance reports, you can only export for the current page instead of the entire report. Which means i have to export every page and combine them manually. It would be nice if it would just export all hosts.
Another Item that I have already seen on this community that I would like to +1 is the fact that sorting a group only sorts the current page instead of all pages. This makes things much more difficult.
If we could be sure to address these issues in future releases or if there is anything I can do now, help is greatly appreciated.
Thank You!

Hi,
Could you please help us with the configuration of servers which are present in the baseline. We did try adding multiple servers in same firmware baseline and we were able to add 800 servers without any problem.
Also, for performing firmware update simultaneously on servers, it is recommended that you perform update on only 100 servers together at a time. We are in the process of publishing guidelines on better usage of OpenManage Enterprise and it should be up soon.
Thanks for pointing to certain observations that you had. We are working towards making the product better and you should see progress in future releases.

Thanks for your reply. It's not that we can't add all the servers to the same group etc. it is that when we do the firmware view, accessed from the device tab / Firmware (like the example below) (not my screenshot), you will select the baseline, but there will be no components listed . This does not occur on all of the hosts but at least in my case seems to be either related to those devices which were added to the system first or ones that would be 1st if you were to sort all 500 in a ascending order.
Here is an example of one the components/versions listed for our R540's
PERC H740P Adapter
50.3.0-1512
4 X Toshiba Tomcat R 1.0TB HDD 6Gbps SATA 3.5 7.2K 512n ISEModel Number: MG04ACA100NY
FK3D
iDRAC with Lifecycle Controller
3.21.23.22
OS Drivers Pack
18.04.07
Enterprise UEFI Diagnostics
4301A18
PowerEdge Server BIOS
1.4.8
iSM LC DUP
3.2.0.1
2 x Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Network Adapter (NX1) - UPDATE
20.8.4
14G SEP
4.26
OS COLLECTOR 3.1.1
I am open to doing a teamview or something of the sort if it will help you determine the root cause of the issue.
Thanks!

Hi,
I have an update. We were able to hit the same problem and we are working towards finding a solution for it. It should be up soon.
