Ax150i - New Disks are Unsupported
I purchased (6) drives from Dell for a Dell-EMC Ax150i. Trying to use them, I get the Ax150i message:
"You have inserted unsupported disk drive(s) in the storage system. Please verify that all disk drives are SATA II."
Only difference in labeling:
Working Drives: Lot Number: W-01-0801-2
New, incompatible drives: Lot Number: W-01-0804-2
Otherwise, all other numbers match:
Seagate Barracuda ES
250GB
P/N ST3250820NS 9BL13E-236
Firmware: 3.BAJ
A call to my Dell "Silver" sales support said I was sold drives with "Incorrect Flare Codes" and pushed the issue back to sales.
Any help would be appreciated.

http://www.emc.com/dell-ax150support -> register for the download here.
Prepare for downtime on your server.
After the upgrade try the drives again. If you still get that message, I'd suggest to contact your Dell salesperson and check he/she didn't get you AX100 drives.

I believe you need to use specific drives that are formatted correctly. It certainly seems like you were sold the incorrect drives.

Flare does look for specific information on the drives and if it does not find it, will report the drives as unsupported. If you have the latest flare and it is still reporting that then they are not supported. If they were purchased from Dell, tell them you were sold the wrong drives. if you puchased them somewhere else, you are out of luck.
