I got ripped off by dell
Hi There,
I recently brought a G3 gaming laptop from dell official website in India, its a newly launched series in India, so new that its not even available on amazon.in or any other website.
I brought this laptop for about USD 1500 on 25th of Jul 2018 and received it on 5th of Aug 2018 so its less than 2 weeks old, while browsing through the dell website i realized that dell is now offering (within weeks of launching these laptops) a G7 with much higher specs at a same price.
I am feeling totally cheated by dell for selling me an inferior laptop at higher price, price for a G3 (my specs ) model in US is about USD 850 i paid almost 40% higher than that trusting dell will have a standard pricing, and now they've adjusted the price.
Its like you are waiting to buy your favorite car's newly launched series and within a week of buying ( knowing well that the price you are buying at is higher compared to world market) car company offers higher model at the same price, how would you feel about that?
I contacted dell India customer care they are ruthless and unapologetic and saying we can't do anything about it and there will be no returns or upgrade.
Is this standard just for countries like India where they like to dump their unsold stock at spiked prices and then too don't offer good level of customer support to their customers.
Upon asking who is national head of dell customer support/ customer experience i was told by their escalation team that there is no such designation in India!
its like after having customer's money they don't care about anything.
unbelievably pathetic customer experience

You cannot compare system prices -- even on identical hardware configurations -- in different countries. The cost of doing business varies by country, and market prices reflect this.
In Europe, there are more stringent warranty requirements for one - and the system cost is higher to reflect that fact.

What about the price adjustment, it seems to me sales head did not pay attention to the prices they were uploading on the website, and after uploading they decided oh thats wrong and reduced it again.
But what about customers who trusted the dell as a company and brought laptops at spiked prices during this errored pricing window, shouldnt dell be offering them some solution?
