Build your own computer

I am utterly disappointed in Dells move to limit how much you can customize a computer. Dell makes a good computer, but so do other manufacturers. Dell's claim to fame and their best feature was the ability to get the computer that you wanted. Now that feature only exists for gaming computers. Want an additional optical drive, can't do it. want speakers, not available, want a different harddrive, cannot do that either. This is a corporate strategy to try and maximize profit, not serve the client. I have had Dell computers for a long time and have been happy with them. My son has had Dells for a long time also, and is ready to buy again. He is very disappointed with the current state of build your own. I currently have an XPS 9100 when I need my next computer if the same lack of customization is available, it maybe my last Dell.

It would be cheaper to buid your own.  Buy your parts sepreately and before you know it  you have a amazing system.  I  have built aleast 10 computers or more and they have never failed me.  Just a thought.
