How many IP address we need to assign to a iSCSI SAN ?
We are planning to implement VMware ESX with iSCSI SAN and we have some experience with CX3-20 SAN before.
We would like to know
1) Is it a common practise to use 2 switches of same model for implementing ESX Host OR just use any 2 Gigabit Ethernet switches?
2) How many IP addresses we need to assign to the iSCSI - Is it necessary to assign IP to each controller OR assign IP to each iSCSI port?
Thanks

1-you could visit www.emc.com/ax100support, www.emc.com/ax150support,www.emc.com/ax4-5support, check the "Support Matrix" and CLARiiON AX-Series(AX100,AX150, AX4-5) Best Practices
2- All CLARiiON AX-Series ISCSI Arrays have 2 ISCSI ports per SP(Storage Processor), so basically will be able to assign only 4 IPaddress, Please visit at www.emc.com/ax100support, www.emc.com/ax150support,www.emc.com/ax4-5support, and click on " Install" you will generate a doc depending on your SAN configuration.
