how can we move replicated data from one grid to other
Hi All,
we've around 10 grids replicating to one grid..but we have new grid in place..so we need to replicate those 10 grids to this new grid..
Is there a way to move replicated data from older grid to new grid ?
Thanks

If you want to do it yourself, then look at the "replicate" command

This will require a system migration which are performed by Professional Services. If you're an authorized partner, you can find the System Migration Technical Note on the EMC support site. Otherwise, please reach out to your account team.

What you've described is a system migration. It uses root-to-root replication to replicate all data from the old grid to the new grid.

yes,we can contact them
But can't we configure replication in such a way that old grid replicates all its data to new grid ? can we configure replication for replicate domain

we have some clients getting backed up on new grid .So if we do root-root replication does it mess up the clients backing up on new grid

That will complicate things. It won't be possible to run a full system migration since there is already client data on the target system. A root-to-root replication at this point will almost certainly cause issues. If you replace a replication target in future, I would recommend migrating the data from the existing target to the new target before backing up any new data.
It is possible to force the replicator to replicate the contents of the /REPLICATE domain but this must be done very carefully so I will not document the procedure here. I would recommend getting in touch with your account team.

Do Gen4 grids run on 100 mb speed

Hey,
You can perform system migration to move replicated data from one grid to other grids. But the system migration is using Root to Root replication, so you need to ensure the data of other grids already backed up before the migration.
If you have EMC partner permission, you can download Avamar 7.0 System Migration Using Root-to-Root Replication document from EMC support homepage. The document contains detailed content.
Hope this helps.

All Avamar Data Store hardware uses Gigabit Ethernet NICs.
I know Leo means well here but if you've never replicated the /REPLICATE domain before, I would really recommend getting in touch with support or your account team for assistance. If the replication isn't done exactly right, you'll end up with client ID issues that are subtle and difficult to diagnose. Fixing CID mismatch issues can also take an awful lot of time and effort.
