Alienware M14X R2 palmrest rubber peeling off

Hi everyone,

I have another problem on my Alienware M14X R2. The bubble one was solved - it just did pop off randomly.

I have a new problem however - a VERY annoying one.

The rubber on the palmrest is peeling off but not all at the same time - piece by piece. Now my computer looks like some mimetic thing that is really ugly. I had this problem since the computer was two weeks old. I didn't tell it because I thought that it would just come off everywhere and I would leave it like that. However it didn't come off and so now I am writing it here.

What can I do? Can I order the palmrest assembly and replace it by myself, or should I send the computer to Dell? I would prefer the first option as it's my only computer besides a Pentium II. Or is there another option?
I am starting to get kind of fed up, because this computer has many problems and was paid 900€...

Anyway, thanks for your support.

Here is a picture showing the thing.

Hi lego11,

It is unfortunate that the rubber on the palm rest is peeling off. This is not a customer replaceable unit so it is advisable if a technician does it.

You may use the below link and check the warranty status of the system:

If the computer is out of warranty you may contact the out of warranty repairs team on 18002884410 (U.S only). They can check and help you further.

If the computer is in warranty then do send me the system service tag via private message. I will check and see what can be done.
