Alienware Hdmi monitor connection
I just got an Alienware x51 desktop. I can't get my monitor to recognize the computer when I plug it in with an hdmi to hdmi cable. I'm using a Samsung smart tv as my monitor. Should I try to connect using a different type of cable or some kind of adapter?

Yes, I tried both hdmi ports. I ended up purchasing a DVI to hdmi adapter which I connected directly into the discreet graphics card (?). Everything worked perfectly then and I didn't have to change any settings.

Have you tried to connect the cable in both HDMI ports?
Make sure the HDMI cable is working properly and yes if you have any other way to make the connection you can try it out.
As well is very important to go to devices and select the second screen options as soon as you connect the TV.
