Aurora R10, when add two SSDs, will boot OK, but not "restart"
Hi. So, I've been at this for a few days. Was able to get RAM up to 32GB, stable at 3200, no problem.
Have two older SATA SSDs (128GB each). They install easily enough in the two spare, empty slots. and are recognized by windows as E, G ("fast, blank space" for photo, video editing purposes).
system storage: OS C: 460GB (PCIe bus)
DATA 1.8 TB (3.5 SATA HDD)
PLEX-128 E-- 119 GB (SATA SSD)
easystore F -- 7.3 TB (USB ext drive)
back up-scratch F: 118 GB (STAT SSD)
System works fine when shut down; rebooted. But if try "restart" (or program/windows update triggers "restart") it won't get to windows boot. (stops at Alienware logo; no circular dots). Pull SATA SSDs- restarts fine. Turn machine off and reboot, starts fine (but I don't like doing that manually).
I've tried a few things in BIOS, but don't quite understand (and find it odd "RAID" is the default setting vs. ACHI?), so put things back at default.
I've called DELL SUPPORT, but when they hear it's not their SSDs, the offer to have service tech call me back in 48 hours at an unspecified charge. (no thanks). Is there something obvious that I am missing. System has recently been "restored to factory setting" and subsequently updated, populated with programs.
Or can I go through life without restarting? (that's like poetry, huh?).

I made some typing errors:
Data "D" drive ...
Easystore USB drive is "F"; backup-scratch SATA SSD is "G"
thanks,

I had a similar issue with my R10 Ryzen when trying to install an extra "old" SSD. The brand was Lite-On. I could shut down the system and do a cold boot but restarts would fail every time and get stuck at the logo. I eventually gave up trying to make it work and bought a 4tb Samsung SSD and 2 Seagate 8TB SATA drives and shoehorned them in there. It hasn't missed a beat since. (I still boot off the M.2 drive that came with the system)
My guess is that certain drives just aren't compatible with the motherboard for some reason.

Thanks, for sharing that... might want to try a newer SSD then.

SOLVED: when adding new SSD (WD-BLUE SATA SSD 3D NAND) 1 TB drive, problem of restarting went away.
