Area-51 R5, Alienware Keyboard not in AWCC?

I just received a new Alienware Area 51 R5 today and the Alienware Keyboard is nowhere to be found in the AWCC (new version - it auto downloaded when I turned on the computer). I want to be able to change the FX lighting and there's no option to do so.

Please Help!

This software, un-like AWCC for laptops, only allows for performing keystroke combo’s limiting its usefulness. I need to be able to call batch files to perform certain admin duties and such. My workaround, is to creat a desktop shortcut that calls the batch file(s)..

Here’s the link for the AW78 Pro Gaming Keyboard AWCC

Happy Alienating!

Hi @Bradleyjs2,

For this, you'll need to download Alienware Control Center.

Thanks, that was my next step. I’m making a windows restore-point right now. I will post the results when complete.

I re-installed AWCC and the Gaming Keyboard (AW768) still won't show up. I followed this checklist to the tee.

I'm not sure what's next...

Problem solved. There’s a separate software package just for the AW768 Pro Gaming Keyboard. I can control all of the lights now; but I’m not able to program the special macros keys for some reason. I’ll have to figure that out.

so the original posters says the keyboard can't be found in alienware control center, so your advice is " he needs to install alienware control center"?

did you work in customer service too?

Traditionally, we have referred to Alienware Command Center as AWCC

However, I think the software for the new Keyboard is called Alienware Control Center

Pretty clever huh. :TongueTied:  (not)

Yes, I worked with support to find the tool that was needed to control the keyboard. On Alienware laptops, which I’ve had many, it’s combined in the AWCC.

Because recent Alienware laptops always have the LED keyboard. Probably one of the reasons why "Alienware Command Center for Laptops" has always been a (similar but) separate program from the Desktop version.
